| .: Backup of the backup :. | | I remember that I was laughing at the joke about doing things around to have the backup of the backup in Sar Treck episode. Several days ago, I accidently deleted all photo records for our site. I was rewriting a condition in the query string for doing a select, well, that was what's I've thought, but then I forgot to remove the delete in the beginning of the string which I made a delete query previously. The second right after I executed the query, and saw the unexpected fetched rows told in status bar, I knew I made a huge mistake. That was so scary moment. Like I've just waken up and found I lost four years' memories. I knew I didn't have any backup, and I was ready to accept the consequences. Thanks for baby just having the backup months ago. I'll loose few weeks' datas, but then I guess I'll never forget this experience. Though... I knew this will happen, I thought to be extra careful about writing queries in order to avoid things like this happen. Well, guess people didn't come up with the word "Backup" for no reason. However, there are things can not be backed up and don't have backup either. It's true. I suppose, deep down in my mind I think those photo records are just a bunch of digits, the real treasures are what I have and see with my eyes. Oh, right, they are in my brain, and stored in my cortex. |
